It has dawned on me that I really should put something here. This page will therefore likely be a work in progress with me adding things to it as they come to me.

 

1. I’m British, grew up in Merseyside and now reside in the Midlands.

2. I moved to the Midlands when I came to university, and never managed to escape.

3. I spent a lot of my childhood in Ireland, where my mother’s family come from.

4. I have a partner, known here as the OH (whom I’ve had for 7 years now) and a cat, known as Blind Ninja Cat (whom we’ve had for two-and-a-half years).

5. We had another cat, whom we raised from a kitten after he was abandoned on our doorstep, but he died suddenly in the summer of 2008.

6. I’d like to get another cat sometime, despite the OH’s worries.

7. I studied Film, Television and Radio studies at university.

8. I would only recoomend that degree to anyone who doesn’t mind their ability to watch films being completely destroyed.

9. I wanted to study Psychology, but I couldn’t cope with the math/statistics content.

10. I have dyscalcula, or numerical dyslexia, that wasn’t diagnosed until I was in university.

11. I’ve suffered from clinical depression since I was 14.

12. I’ve suffered periodically from Myalgic Encephalomylitis (that’s ME or CFS to you) since I was 22.

13. I’m a Discordian and a Servant of Bast.

14. And a Taoist.

15. And a witch.

16. I have the ability to destroy electronic equipment just by being near it.

17. I once made a computer catch fire and explode by checking my e-mail on it. Really.

18. None of my friends let me touch their computers any more.

19. I like horror movies, and bad horror movies in particular.

20. I play MMOs, specifically Warhammer Online and City of Heroes.

21. I can’t drive, and likely never will.

22. I walk most places when I can.

23. I think I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up.

24. I still want to be a writer when I do.

25. In the meantime I’ll settle for being a PSO.

26. I am notoriously unshockable.

27. I am terrified of needles and injections.

28. I’m ambidextrous.

29. I understand the Offside rule in football.
